Tactful supression of mandatory additional payments beyond room charges

I had booked 2 rooms for 31st December , 2015 for myself and family at Welcome Heritage Balsamand Lake Palace Hotel at Jodhpur, Rajasthan through Goibibo vide reference number HTL9T6CMDF.
I had made a 100% payment of Rs 16,105 /- ( Rupees Sixteen thousand one hundred five only ) towards room charges in advance to M/s Goibibo .
On 1st January , 2016 when I went to check out they forced me to pay and additional amount of Rs 25,224/- , on account of mandatory banquet charges for 31st December , 2015 mandatory Gala Dinner charges @ Rs 6200/- appx per person . ( Hotel Bill ref. no. 2179 , bill date : 01/01/2016.)
I had not asked for this services nor had I intended to be a part of this event .On enquiring as to why I had to pay the amount they showed me a clause at the fag end of a 2 page voucher stating that this is a mandatory charge per person .
My submission is that in the first place such mandatory charges cannot be imposed on a guest against his / her intent and secondly such huge payable amount should be mentioned right at the beginning in bold rather than deliberately trying to make the customer overlook the same and mentioning it at the end .
As a result of this huge unforeseen expenses, I had to cut short many plans during my ensuing visit to Jaisalmer on the 1st & 2nd & 3rd of January , 2016.
I want a refund of the amount and also a probe into such customer unfriendly , unethical nexus between the Hotel authorities & Goibibo .
