Complain against Uber for Invalid deduction of Rs 769.50

Cab Booking Complaint Date: September 11, 2017
Modified date: September 18, 2017
Hi,

On 1st September when I was trying to book a cab in the afternoon, Uber application showed that there is an outstanding amount of Rs.769.50 and deducted the same from my paytm account.

I believe this was an invalid deduction from my account.

When I reached out to Uber, they said that the deduction was a valid one, since the trip I had taken on 12th February 2017 had a payment error and hence they had deducted the amount in 1st September 2017.

When I checked my paytm history (as I make all uber payments via Paytm), the amount was infact deducted on 13th February. I agree it was a system glitch from their and sent them the screenshots of both deductions (13th Feb and 1st Sept) along with the payment reference numbers (attached the same for your reference).

It's been 12 days and every time I send an email, they say that there is no ETA and the team is working on it. Uber should have checked their records properly before deducting the amount and should prioritize the refunding process when I sent the evidences of amount being deducted twice.

Request you to provide your support in obtaining a refund from Uber.

Thanks,
Anuradha
