I ordered moto g4 plus on 3rd june 2016 from amazon.in which was delivered to me on 7th june.Since the time I bought the mobile the mobile had severe heating issues but I ignored it because the exchange procedure on online shopping is quite irritating. The main purpose of me buying a Motorola phone was that they are water resistant. However on 30th july when I went out to buy some groceries at around 8pm with my sister, it started raining slightly and I had to rush back home without an umbrella. We were a little wet but as we came home and checked our mobile they were working as usual. At night when I was about to sleep I got an update to kept my phone on updating and went to sleep. the next morning i.e. 31st as I woke up I saw my display doesn't look like usual and hence I kept it to charge. After charging the screen completely blacked out. However the flashlight and fingerprint censor were still working.
As it was a sunday on 31st none of the service centers were working. So on monday i.e. on 1st august when i went to the service center they told me that the phone is fully watter logged and the pcb and display has to changed. The repairing cost told were 15500 where as the price of the mobile was 13500. My phone is still under warranty period but they're not ready to offer me one saying we don't cover such damages. It was not even 2 months that I got my mobile.
1. Motorola clearly mentioned in their ads that the mobile is water resistant. My phone must have had maximum 4-5 drops on it when I checked it after coming home. This is breaching an essential condition of their description.
2. I feel they already delivered me a faulty piece as the mobile had severe heating issue since the first day. Also my sister's phone was equally in rains as mine, her mobile is completely fine. Any normal phone can resist 4-5 drops of water on itm My mobile being water resistant it didn't. It shows they delivered me a faulty piece.
3. My uncle's Motorola phone fell in a tub of water. His phone is absolutely fine. So should be mine as it is water resistant. Mine was just in rains and every mobile like samsung, nokia, sony are resistant to such petty amount of water
I want my phone to be replaced with a new one or I want all my money back from Motorola. Thank you.
