I am writing to express my utmost anger and frustration with the abysmal service and deplorable quality of the Hyundai AC unit (Model: HYSFS18K3S19A) I purchased on 18.05.2022 from Unicorn Trade International.
The unit stopped working on 05.07.2024,for which complaint was registered with Hyundai customer care (no. 9592979297) on 12.07.2024. In this peak summer heat without any cooling in my office I was unable to conduct my business form the office properly and my work and business dealings were effected. Despite countless attempts to get this issue resolved through getting in touch with the Hyundai Electronics’ customer service, I have encountered nothing but incompetence and disregard. Let me outline the series of unacceptable events.
I have been in regular contact with the Hyundai Electronics’ customer care representatives (through their contact number 9592979297) but each I got the same response that the relevant faulty part has been dispatched and will be reaching the nearest service facility within 2-3 days.
After numerous futile attempts, a technician finally came and diagnosed that the compressor of the AC was not working and needed to be replaced. They assured us that the relevantpart (i.e., the compressor), which is under a 5-year warranty, was in stock and can be replaced the nextday. He demanded for a payment of INR 3,500 (Indian Rupees Three Thousand Five Hundred only) as“Gas Charges” and relying on their assurance and statements, I paid INR 2,500 (Indian Rupees TwoThousand Five Hundred only) on 13.07.2024 through Gpay to one Mr. Buta Singh on phone No.9888481480 and asked them to replace the compressor and fix the AC unit as soon as possible. However, after the receipt of the payment they informed us that the compressor that they had, was notthe right part for our AC and that required a new order for the specific part. Further, I came to know through the customer care representatives that the representatives (including Mr. Buta Singh) from the authorized service center were not authorized to take any payment prior to the completion/resolution of the issue. This clearly shows that the representatives (including Mr. Buta Singh) from the authorized service center took my money by misrepresentation and it was an attempt to cheat me. From the past roughly 40 days I have been requesting Mr. Buta Singh to send my money (i.e., INR 2,500) back to me and each time instead of repairing the AC unit or sending my money back he gives excuses. Till date he has not refunded my money (i.e., INR2,500) which clearly indicates that the intention was to cheat me of my hard-earned money. I am now left with a broken AC, uncertain of when the correct part will arrive and out of pocket for INR 2,500 with no clear resolution in sight. This is nothing short of fraud.
After multiple attempts to get the issue resolves, Hyundai Electronics’ customer care representative gave me the number of Mr. Naveen on 24.07.2024 (MobileNo. 9217461544) adding by saying that he is the head of the area. I contacted him regularly from 24.07.2024 to 03.08.2024 requesting to revolve my issue and get the AC unit repaired as it was becoming unbearable to sit in the office given the scorching heat and he assured to resolve problem by26.07.2024 but since then he has not picking my number.
The overall service has been appalling, and the summer season is nearing its end. Do you expect me to wait until winter, when the AC will be useless, to get this issue resolved? This level of service is not just unacceptable, it is outrageous.
My complaint was registered on 12.07.2024 and since no resolution has happened since, I wrote an email to the relevant department seeking adequate compensation for a poor product, unhelpful customer service, act of cheating by Mr. Buta Singh and the general mental agony this whole experience has cause me. And not at all to my surprise, I haven’t received any response to the said email. I have filed a complaint with the consumer forum of the relevant jurisdiction. Given the fact that the AC unit has not been functioning in this extreme heat since 05.07.2024, I was unable to conduct my business at the office, which has affected my business. With almost no hope of getting a resolution, I now have removed the whole unit and dumped it outside.This experience has severely damaged Hyundai Electronics’ reputation in my eyes. My intention of brining this issue to light is to make everyone aware of the poor service and quality standards that are present in Hyundai Electronics and I advise everyone to take heed of this and to boycott Hyundai Electronics’ products as they are of the poorest quality and cant be relied upon. I am angry, frustrated, irritated, disappointed and everything else that a consumer of any product should not be.
