I, Pradyot Lahiri holder of the Card number 4377 4869 9740 9246 for a long period over 3 years.
On 20.02.2016, when I was in my, I had received a call from a mobile number 07428164329 and a person named Mr. Anup Mishra (Emp ID: 486922), who said that he belongs to Visa / Master card service partner department.
He told me that, few years back I made a transaction of a travel package which I did not used and many others people have lodged complain against the concern company for wrong commitment. That’s why the company reversed a sum of Rs. 5000/- to the customers who did not take the benefits or used the package.
So the person asked me for the credit card details from which I had made the transaction few years back. I told him that I used then my HDFC credit card. Then the person said that due to server failure HDFC card is not useable, any other bank card may be use if I have.
Then I provide my SBI card details and immediately . After that I have received a transition sms of Rs. 4999/-. Immediately I told the person that the amount deducted from my account not reversed. Then the person said that in my account he will reverse double amount. Then he generated a password and I found that again Rs. 9998/- was deducted from my card account. The person said that after few hours these amounts are shown in my account and get reversed.
After few minutes I feel a doubt and called back the person. He replied that those transactions were shown failed in his system and now he transferred the whole amount. Again I receive a sms as another Rs. 4999/- was deducted from my account.
I requested to customer care for blocking the card and lodged a complain for those 3 transactions. I have also made a complain to the Lake Police station, kolkata, WB.
Now SBI card department repeatedly called me and asking for the whole payment. I am very much nervous what to do now.
Please look into matter urgently.
