SUB : Complaint against pending files regarding wrong recovery of water bills.
Respected Sir,
With great regret I, the undersigned, have to approach your offices
for resolving of my long pending grievance despite repeated
complaints at the Water works department at the Bhavnagar Municipal
Corporation offices. My complaint in short is as under :
1) We are joint family and I had been charged water tax since 1996 for
3 connections (2 household and 1 commercial) which I had paid despite
there being only one 1 household connection. (vide Property tax Old
assesee Keynos : 16/5520/0042/1 (water connection no. 9585) and
Property tax key no. 16/5520/0068/1, property tax assesse key no.
16/5520/0069/1) .
2) When I complained in 2011 to BMC (vide complaint inward no. 1339
dt.3.3.2011) the BMC officials came to my house and verified the
connection and accepted that there is only one water connection for
household use.
3) Since matter was not resolved and again 3 connections of water were
charged against my house property I complained again to BMC officials
on 27.1. 2012 received by BMC vide inward no. 4955 dt. 15.02.2012.
They verbally assured me that it would be corrected but they gave me
bill for 3 water connections as before. . I did not pay that
particular bill since my complaint was not resolved despite verbal
assurances.
4) Since the matter was not resolved and there was no response from
BMC, I again complained on 16.7.2013 which complain was received by
Regd AD on 18.7.2013. The BMC officials came to my house from the
water works and property tax deptt, checked my property and they
again accepted in their report that I am correct in the fact that
there is only one water connection. But there was no corrective action
regarding my bills and again on 1.4.2015 they gave me a bill for old
assessment despite the above mentioned verification showing pending
amounts of the wrong water connections.
5) When I personally met the concerned BMC officials in the water
works , they did not respond properly and gave vague replies. But now
the last bill in the new assessment have been issued with correction
on new assessment key for only 1 water connection which should have
been done long back.
6) Sir, I am thankful to BMC officials for correcting the error but my
complaint is WHAT ABOUT THE WRONG WATER TAXES THAT I HAVE BEEN PAID
SINCE 1990? The BMC officials are not ready to respond to THIS ISSUE
and THAT is my complain against the BMC. This is cheating on part of
BMC and had I not challenged the wrong water tax bills this would not
have been resolved.
7) Sir, its my heartfelt request for your honour to PLEASE intervene
in this matter and arrange for refund of the wrong water taxes that I
have already paid to BMC since 1990 which amount to approximately Rs.
61,532/-
The relevant documents , the copy of property tax/water tax bills, my
complaints to BMC since 2011 are attached for quick reference.
If your honour feels so, then I am ready to come personally to meet
you and clarify the matter.
I am a humble man with a large family to support and I sincerely hope
that your honour will definitely redress my grievance and arrange for
the refund of the water taxes and oblige.
