I had purchased HTC one e9s phone on 6th Jan 2016 and my phone dropped from my hand from a height of less than 4ft and landed on its back. I was shocked to see a phone landing on its back having an effect on its display which was gone and screen which was cracked. Sent it to service centre which is 15kms away from my house, after going to all service centres listed on htc website to find them already closed down, paid 8000 and got it repaired. The phone dropped again 3 days ago, this time from a height of less than 2ft, again landing on its back and again display gone and screen cracked. Shocking it is, for in the past ten years that I have been using mobile handsets, phones have been dropping from my hand from greater heights of all the leading brands but not required to be sent to service centre even once, forget display or screen type serious problems didnt face any problem (have seen phones dropping on face side opening up and when picked up put together working absolutely fine again). I am sure that there is some serious defect either with this particular handset or this model for a phone cannot stop working everytime it drops even as low as less than 2ft.

My second problem...I sent the phone to service centre again and they asked for an advance of 4000 to repair the phone. They want me to leave my handset with them as well as pay them in advance something unheard of. All repair charges are paid after satisfactory repair work done. I called up the htc consumer helpline number and they want me to go to the service centre which is 15km away personally, and make the service engineers talk to them and only then would they be able to tell me whether I need to pay advance or not. It is an authorised service centre, god knows authorised by whom, which runs on its own whims and fancies. We consumers are being misled by saying that the company decides the rules for authorised service centres. When I said it is not possible for me to go 15kms personally and that I would send the phone with an office boy who is not competent enough to complete the communication they refused to help me in any other way.

Does htc manufacture phones to earn repair charges for as long as a consumer can be fooled to continue using their handset.I have dropped phones on several occassions but never faced such problems. A phone stops working everytime it falls is simply impossible unless it is defective or manufactured with that intent .

I seem to have made the biggest mistake by buying htc phone for their handsets are defective, their charges are exorbitant, their website has false information and the company refuses to help its customers.
