Mishandling of cord blood umbilical cord and cord blood banking program

Dear Concern,
We selected cord life for our new born to enroll for umbilical cord and cord blood banking program. We finalized the agreement with Cord life on 31st march 2016. As per the agreement we informed the representative well in advance of the delivery and he was there for the delivery at 10:30 PM (21st June 2016) and the baby arrived at 12:30 AM (22nd June 2016).
24th June evening we got a call that the blood collected was not 15 ml. We did our best to understand what the reason of collecting inadequate sample was. We were given 2 different reasons:
• Staff named Hasan confirmed to us that the Gynecology who was present at the time of delivery had cut the cod and due to which the blood sample was inadequate
• Staff named Shweta confirmed that the blood was less in the sample.
Upon this Gynecologist has confirmed that the representative wasn’t there and didn’t communicate properly. If he would have been responsible and would have informed the gynec we would have not lost once in a life time opportunity.
The worst was the attitude of the staff in handling our case. In addition, did not even attempt to understand our situation at all.
One more thing we would like to bring to your notice we were not given any information regarding the blood sample size. When the executive came to do his presentation he informed nothing of this sort.
Miss Shweta didn’t attempt to understand our concern at all. We were informed that due to less sample collection 100% viability cannot be promised but did not confirm what we can expect and what we cannot.
We don’t have any option left as now there is no solution, as per the gyec if only he would have asked she could have given more blood. This is like a lifetime opportunity loss.


Please treat this as a complaint and we really would need someone to take action on our complaint, we need complete investigation on the case and need an answer at earnest.
