On 25th July I had purchased 2 no yoga mats (Petanjali Ex0T45Gt Yoga Mats 6mm) with their carry bags from Amazon for Rs 930, which included Rs 180/- towards delivery charges.(Order #171-3132979-7123533
It took Amazon a week to deliver the product which was delivered by a third party courier DTDC.
On opening the package, to our surprise both the carry bags were small and could not take the yoga mats.
Moreover, the bags were made of cheap plastic, were crushed and had stains. They gave the impression that they have been used.
On taking the matter with Amazon, we were directed to contact the supplier - Petanjali.
We were then directed to pack, print and ship the product back to the supplier at consumer's cost.
On taking the matter with Amazon, Amazon chose to remain quiet & have since not responded!
The question is:-
1) Why should the consumer pack, print & ship a defective product & bear all expenses for shipping a return defective product which does not meet the specifications advertised?
2) How can Amazon wash their hands off after the sales & force consumers to contact & deal with the third party suppliers whose products are sold by Amazon?
3) Why is Amazon authorizing the shipment of products which has not been checked by Amazon personnel?
4) How can Amazon demand a consumer to pack, print, ship & bear all expenses to returning a defective product or a product that does not meet the specifications advertised by Amazon?
Amazon has been misleading the public regarding the ease of returning products in TV & other promotional media.
I want Amazon to pick back the product delivered at their cost ( as done by their competitor's - Flipkart) and return my money.
