On 31st October,2017, I was approached by a representative from club Mahindra who counselled me to become member of club Mahindra group for planning holidays with and staying in club Mahindra resorts with membership lasting 25 years. He enrolled me in white group but gave wrong information that white group includes school holidays also. Also he made me to book the membership on that very day as he has come specially for me and many of the benefits will not be given to me if I do not pay the booking amount on that day. Also he informed that the booking amount is totally refundable if I change plans. So I made a payment of rupees 37220/- with my credit card.
When I checked about the white group on the club Mahindra site I found that it did not include school holidays. As I was given wrong information despite repeatedly being enquired so I felt cheated and decided to end my membership.
I was given membership Id no. 2786620. On 2-noc-2017, I wrote to club Mahindra through my registered email id to terminate my membership which was confirmed by them through an email on 8-nov-2017, and also stated that refund cheque will be dispatched in 85-90 working day. This was also confirmed by a telephone call from Mr. Varun from their Chandigarh office.
On 17-dec-2017 I again received a telephone call from Chandigarh office telling me that my membership cancellation request is pending. On 18-dec-2017, I e-mailed again and enquired about the status . I received the answer by email on 19-dec-2017, confirming that request is under process and refund cheque will be dispatched in 60-65 working days.
On 13-feb2018 , I e-mailed enquiring status of my refund and got reply on 14-feb-2018 , informing that refund cheque will be dispatched in 30-35 working days.
Again on 7- mar-2018, I emailed to enquire about the status and was informed on 9-mar-2018, that refund cheque will now be dispatched in next 40-45 days.
On further enquiry on 25-mar-2018, by an e-mail but this time I got no answer. Then on 26-apr-2018, I received a mail from club Mahindra stating “ your down-payment of rupees 37220/- towards membership id 403939 has been realised”. “ we are excited to take your first holiday as much as we are to host you at our resort and request you to ensure timely EMI payment”.
After the best of sincere efforts from my side, I am feeling harassed and cheated by club Mahindra group. I have never been kept updated about the status of my refund. Now feeling hopeless and helpless I am placing my application in consumer court with full hope for justice. Thanks.
