Dear Sir/Madam,
I, Sajid Ansari, son of Khatiza Khatoon, residing at Raza Nagar,Gaidehra, Gobindpur, Jharkhand, am writing this complaint on behalf of my mother, Khatiza Khatoon, against Bandhan Bank, Govindpur Branch, for their negligence and breach of contract.
My mother, Khatiza Khatoon, availed a group loan from Bandhan Bank, Govindpur Branch, on 10th November 2023. The loan account number is 50180032665589. The group name is Disha 2. The loan amount sanctioned was Rs. 1,00,000/- out of which only Rs. 97,000/- was disbursed to my mother. Subsequently, a top-up loan of Rs. 30,000/- was sanctioned on 14th March 2024, out of which Rs. 28,000/- was disbursed.
Unfortunately, my father, the husband of Khatiza Khatoon, passed away on 22nd July 2024 due to Heart Ventricular Failure. Upon informing the bank about the possibility of insurance coverage, we were shocked to learn that no insurance policy had been procured for the loan. This information contradicts the bank's previous claim that the insurance premium was deducted from the loan amount and credited back to my mother's savings account.
The bank’s negligence in this matter has caused immense financial hardship to my family, especially during this time of bereavement. The bank's failure to provide the promised insurance coverage amounts to a breach of contract.
Therefore, I request the District Consumer Forum to take cognizance of this complaint, investigate the matter thoroughly, and direct Bandhan Bank, Govindpur Branch, to pay compensation for the mental agony and financial loss caused to my family due to their negligence and breach of contract.
