Dear Sir/Ma'am I an an ex-servicemen and I having an issue related to ECHS. Following are my details: Name - Jiwan Lal Mehta Rank- NK (Retd.) Service duration- 17 years Service No- 13749766 Ex-servicemen Reg. No- CD0122244 In October I suffered from a condition for which doctors asked me to undergo Embolectomy surgery. I preferred to undergo this surgery at Fortis hospital Mohali through ECHS scheme for which I got referal letter from our regional Ex-servicemen polyclinic at Shimla Himachal Pradesh. I was admitted there on 28-10-2014 and underwent surgery there. After that doctors prescribed me medications which I have to take throughout my life as a preventive measures. These medicines cost me approximately 6000 a month. Also place where reside is very far from Ex-servicemen polyclinic at Shimla. These medicines are not available at Shimla and I have to arrange them from Chandigarh. I asked Shimla polyclinic to provide me the same in the month of November and they said they have placed the order and will get them by the end of that month. However I have not got my medicines yet. Every-time I visited them, they say tomorrow, in 5 days, in 10 days but still they refused to give me my medicines. I have to travel whole day (12h) to Chandigarh by bus to get medicines, stay in hotel over there and then return back to home next day by travelling 12 h. This is very expensive in term of money (approx 10000 in each visit) as well as my health. I can bear such hectic schedule at this age. Worst of all is that they are not refunding my medicine bills that I have procured in these 4 months from outside at my own expense. I would like you to take this matter seriously and take serious actions against the concerned person. Also I would like to have my medical bills refunded and appropriate compensation (15 Lakh) for financial, mental, physical and emotional stress inflicted to me at this age.
