Hello, I’m Arup Paul I checked in Monotel, Sector V on 30th July, 2023 and I paid for a one night stay there without getting to see the room which they say is not their policy. I paid ₹5600 for a one night stay that includes every service that is included in a 4 star hotel. They showed me the room after payment. A very unclean stinky room, the mirror was bad, Ac was bad there was spots on the floor, bathroom looked worn out, no toothpaste, no slippers, the counters looked worn out, the couch was dirty and worn out, plug points were not working,I told them I’m not happy with the room. They told me all their rooms were like that. I told them to change the room, They showed me another room, it was just the same. As it was very late I had to stay. They were not bringing the luggage told me to pack my own bag which was unacceptable. Okay I compromised. After saying twice they brought the luggage. The room was more stinky, bathroom was unacceptable, mini bar was not appropriate to four star standards. I told them to change the room. They were showing me eyes and were saying fake sweet words. They told me all their rooms were like that, I started being angry and irritated. Suddenly, they said they have a better room. I went to that room. Better and bigger than the previous two. I had to go through so many room changes and harassment for a good room that meets four star standards. Okay I compromised. They didn’t give me slippers, no toothpaste, bathroom floor and counters were worn out. Still I said nothing. Then I looked at the mini bar, there were cold drinks and fruit juice and no alcohol as there are in all mini bars. I told them that I’m not happy with the minibar, they told me it’s their policy. When I checked in they didn’t tell me that the mini bar won’t have alcohol. Chargeable foods on the counter top were cheap in quality not of four star standards. I checked the sofa. It was worn out and had black spots. The lamp shade was just for show, not working. The bed sheets had no fresh smell. The room was stinky. I told them for a room-freshner, they came late with a room freshner whose quality was questionable, They sprayed the room. The room was still stinky. I compromised. No slippers still. I asked them if I can order food, they told me I can order anything from the menu. I wanted to have a Cheese Hawaiian Sandwich. I made my mind. They told me they can’t provide me that. I felt harassed and irritated. I was angry and told them to make that possible. They told me in a very odd tone that it’s not possible. Okay I ordered a yoghurt fruit drink and the same Hawaiian cheese sandwich. They told me they will change the recipe for the Hawaiian cheese sandwich which I hated. The order came really late. I had the yoghurt drink, it tasted as if that yoghurt had expired. They didn’t bring the sandwich even if I ordered them together. I was very hungry I told them. The sandwich came very late. I told them there is a good smelling room-freshner. They told me they can’t arrange that was not in their policy. I was upset. I was so tired from my flights, I wanted a fresh room. They were behaving oddly. They were making me feel small and treating me like a no-one. I said a thousand times I’m not happy with their service. They kept saying me sorry without any improvement in their service. One thing I forgot to write, when I entered the lobby near the reception desk, the Ac was not working. I could have changed the hotel but it was very late and I was very tired. They even said me if I don’t like the room I would get a refund. They were illogical. It was really late and I needed to rest. Okay I compromised. Still no slippers. No minibar alcohol. No high quality snacks. I slept in that room as I was very tired. When I checked in they told me the breakfast buffet closes at 10:30 and it was free with the ₹5600 I paid. The next day when I woke up it was 10:30. I quickly freshened up and went to the restaurant. I was just 10min late. They said they won’t allow the buffet as it was closed. They don’t believe in a bit of humanity. Didn’t even extend it. I wanted to have the buffet but they won’t give me. I told them I will call the police. They still told that it was their policy. They kept blaming me for being late and told me that I should have let them know them beforehand. But it was their duty to ask. Kept blaming me although I was the victim of their bad service. I was so hungry they still didn’t give me the buffet and very rude towards me. I felt humiliated. I felt like banging my head on the wall, remember I paid ₹5600. When I said that I will call the police, they said me they will give me food. I’m still waiting they are nowhere to be seen. I’m very hungry. I want food but they won’t give me. Kept telling me about cheap food items that they are going to serve. I hated it. I’m still in the room. They are nowhere to be seen. I feel very low. I want food. I went to the ECTS police they took my complaint but didn’t file a FIR. I requested them to file a FIR and help me file a PIL. But they told me it’s a consumer issue. And PIL is a court issue, I hated that. That’s why I’m here. I feel very bad for my experience. I’m a mental health patient and they treated me like an idiot. They gave me slippers it’s been two hours. They are of very cheap quality and ill-fitting. Still no room-freshner. I told them about Godrej air which is just 100 rupees. In anger I told them if I shall buy them a 100 rupees air-freshner and a 200 rupees slippers. They were adamant they won’t provide me with their service. I’m crying all alone in my room by their behaviour. It came from a vacation in Goa and all my memories are bitter now as I have reached the air. They display they are a 4 star hotel and they have great ratings and are costly but I found out the reality, This was a traumatising experience. I’m a schizophrenic patient and I already go through so much emotional trauma. They even didn’t ask me during check in if I have any health issue. I’m all alone. I don’t know how to file a PIL. They won’t take an FIR. Please help me. They cold shouldered me. I am still staying here in Monotel. I’m hungry and upset. My network went out and I told them to call the police. They were adamant in not calling the police and were blaming me. They were saying super sweet fake and illogical words. They treated me like a begger. I’m feeling depressed. Please help me. I’m mentally traumatised, I’m a schizophrenic non-binary person. They didn’t ask me my pronouns and kept misgendering me. I felt alienated. They were giving me looks as if never seen a non-binary male in a dress before. Oh I forgot to tell you I went in their restaurant barefoot and still they will not provide me slippers. Such rude people, I paid them well and they did this to me.
