I issued a BSNL Maharashtra SIM a month ago from its official branch.
After seeing complete network all week I decided to go for a 3G data pack.
I paid ₹444 for 3Gb internet with a validity for 2 months. The recharge was done by the same BSNL official who issued me the SIM. Also it was done in its official center. The recharge date is 11 October 2016. And then on 1 November I get a message from BSNL that my data pack expires on 4 November. The service is literally the worst service I could ever expect. The data pack being 3G would not stay on 3G mode. Firstly it wud never get connected instantly. After some 5-6 minutes upon connecting it would stay on 3G for 1-2 minutes and then shift to 2G. After shifting to 2G it would stay on a constant speed of 0kbps. Even Google's page couldn't be loaded on this network.
I tried to check the service in different areas of city and had the same fate. Even tried changing devices. No luck at all. I would have thrown my ₹444 rather than use it with BSNL. BSNL boasts of the fastest network in India. I agree to disagree. I get a lot of wrong numbers on this number although I haven't even shared this number with anyone. I get random WhatsApp messages from unknown people on this number. This makes me wonder if I am the first owner of this SIM or is it a recycled kind of thing! I wasted a lot of precious time trying hard to connect the data connection but all in vain. I also had to go through all the frustration which was really a shame for a company like BSNL.
