I am Jyoti Gupta, R/o 463, 2nd Floor, Shakti Khand IV, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad 201010. I run a small boutique at Shop No. G-28, Harsha City Mall, Shakti Khand II, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad 201010. A Paytm representative has installed a Paytm swipe machine to my boutique in November, 2019 as their promotional programme of digital payment initiative. His name is Mr. Shashank (contact no. 7011268425). He charged Rs. 2000 as refundable security deposit on surrendering the machine to them. Due to lockdown and loss in business and non-availing the services I talked with the Paytm representative to stop the services of the machine and sent WhatsApp message to him for discontinuing the facility. I also talked several times with the customer service of the Paytm and asked them to stop the service as my business was not running. I did not use the machine since lockdown. After repeated request they did not register my complaint. In September, 2020 I again registered the complaint when they keep on deducting the monthly management fee from my account but they did not respond to this request even. In November, 2020 they generated a ticket but closed it without listening to my plea.
Till date I have suffered a loss of Rs. 7310/- (Rupees Seven Thousand Three Hundred and Ten Only) in this ransom recovery by Paytm. In my last conversation with their customer care Paytm is also denying to refund the security deposit even but their representative Mr. Shashank is still repeating the same thing that the deposit is refundable. I am having less or no work since the lockdown has been lifted. Every time I do some job and some customer pay the money to my Paytm account without using the swipe machine Paytm deduct the monthly management charges at once whatever amount is being credited to my account though they are not bound to do so since I filed complaint and registered the request to stop the machine so many times. I being a small vendor who earn the livelihood daily have lost a substantial amount because of this corrupt practice of Paytm. They have deducted the Rs. 354 every month though I have told them that I don't want to avail their services still they did not accept my complaint and penalizing me now for more than a year now and they are not even listening to any of my plea or requests which left me nothing but to complain to the consumer forum to represent their fraud that they are doing to the small vendors like me. I really want to bring this fraud of Paytm to the knowledge of the consumer court. I request you to please help me in this matter and resolve the issue and get me justice from the unethical recovery, corrupt practice and unlawful behavior of the Paytm.
