On Friday (2nd September 2016) I(Hagbert Lancy Wolston Pinto) went to buy a bottle of whiskey from the Liquor Mart (Johnny Walkers) here in R.T.Nagar, Bengaluru. After I reached home I realized that the shopkeeper had sold it to me at a price that was almost Rs.500 more than the MRP. When I went back and asked the shopkeeper about it he replied that the prices were increased and that this wasn’t an MRP shop. From my understanding MRP is the “maximum retail price” a person can sell a product for. When I asked him to give a new bottle with the MRP of the one in the bill he said it wasn’t available. I really wonder what the use of the MRP being printed on the back, when no one is following it.
