I am writing to submit a formal complaint against Travancore MRI Scan Centre at Pathanamthitta regarding denial of access to my medical records and unprofessional behaviour by their staff.
I underwent an MRI scan at Travancore MRI Scan Centre in May 2025. Recently, I became unwell while in the United Kingdom and required hospital treatment. My treating doctor urgently requested my previous MRI scan films for immediate medical evaluation, as delays within the UK system made access to prior imaging critically important.
I contacted the scan centre multiple times using the phone number +91 94471 30960 requesting my MRI scan films. One staff member answered my call but spoke in a rude and disrespectful manner. After this, despite repeated calls and clear explanation of the medical urgency, my calls were ignored and the MRI scan was not provided to me.
Failure to provide a patient with their own medical records, especially during a medical situation, is highly concerning and may constitute a violation of patient rights and healthcare service standards. The lack of response and refusal to assist caused significant distress and had the potential to affect timely medical care.
Additionally, I observed multiple public complaints online describing similar experiences of poor communication and service from this facility, which raises concern about systemic issues in patient handling.
I respectfully request the Department of Health Services to urgently:
1. Investigate Travancore MRI Scan Centre regarding denial of patient medical records.
2. Examine staff conduct and communication practices with patients.
3. Ensure that my MRI scan films and records are released without further delay.
4. Take appropriate regulatory action if violations are identified.
I am prepared to provide supporting documents, call records, and medical details required for investigation.
I request that this complaint be treated as urgent considering the medical circumstances involved.
