Unjust Billing and case filed in court

Had taken an MTS MBLAZE dongle which did not work from the date of activation 22nd January 2016. I requested them to return my initial deposit amount of 1100 and asked to cancel my services on 24th January 2016. They not only left my account active but billed me for a complete month and on non payment generated another bill totaling 1420. Today I came to know that they have filed a case against me at Karkardooma court with file number CTC1032. When I had called them numerous times and have copies of the email sent to their Customer Service team for cancellation and refund how can they keep the account active and file a case against me for non payment like a criminal?
