Fake call for debit card details

I received a call from +917549437739 saying that my SBI account has been blocked for 6 years due to non submission of KYC docs. And to update it I was asked to give my debit card details including CVC code at the back side of the card.
I gave him the details and he said I will receive a message which I have to show it to the branch in order to activate my account. The message contained an OTP saying - "To pay Rs. 5000 to SBIbuddy use this OTP".
I gave the OTP to him. Again he said your OTP has expired so provide us the new OTP.
Again I received a message saying - "To pay Rs. 2000 to SBIbuddy use this OTP".
Then I hesitated and did not pick his call any further.
I immediately blocked my ATM card and called the customer care and registered a complaint.
Because I did not have any balance at all in my savings account, he could not succeed in his attempt to use my money.
I want to recover damages from that person.
