Dear Sir/Madam,
This is with reference to my Booking through Make My Trip(MMT) on 04/02/2017 with booking id NF2261986069817(Make my Trip) with PNR M20AQ1 Flight no. G8-384 through which I have booked my ticket from Mumbai to Goa with date of journey 02/03/2017 for which I have paid Rs.10944/-(REFNUDABLE). Due to some reasons I had to cancel my ticket on same day i.e. 04/02/2017. I am very sorry to say that I have received SMS/Mail regarding my refund amounting to Rs.1144/- only. Whereas while cancelling the message displayed on screen was that the refund of Rs9594/- will be initiated. On contacting the customer care I was informed that Rs.9000/- is the penalty for cancellation (if such a huge amount was to be deducted perhaps I may have availed that booking). whereas on MMT web page it is clearly mentioned in bold and highlighted letters “REFUNDABLE”. In justification to this so called penalty MMT has explained that under the head cancellation in hidden manner it is written “24 hrs to 365 days” these charges are applicable, may I know who the hell book a ticket one year in advance. What this justify is that your company is not interested in giving refund to your innocent customers at any cost. If this is the scene why a customer buy a ticket under the title REFUNDABLE isn’t it better to buy a cheap ticket under the title NON REFUNDABLE because under both the titles MMT is not going to refund the booking amount (which comes under cheating and illegal trade practice). As MMT has explained it as a penalty as far as I know a penalty is charged for a mistake/wrong doing/breaking law or making some one a loss for my misdoing, can MMT tell me what loss I have made to the airline or what type of service (if any) the airline has provided me to charge for the same. So I have once again requested but MMT has only waived their service charges of Rs.900/- only and closing the case. Please help to get me my full refund of booking amount after deducting their genuine service charges.
