Sir / Madam,
I approached the Bhangagarh, Guwahati branch of ICICI bank for application to NPS ( National Pension Scheme) around 16th March. I was referred to Mr. Hirak Sinha, who was then handling this section, and he agreed to meet me with the requisite forms on Friday 18th in my office. However, when he turned up in my office finally, it was with some other form. I complained to my personal relationship manager Mr. Ashutosh Singh who then personally intervened in the matter and brought over Hirak Sinha to my residence on the evening of Saturday 19th April, wherein both me and my wife filled out the forms of NPS and handed over cheques of Rs. 50,000 /- for each of our accounts ( total Rs. 1 lakh)to Hirak in the presence of Ashutosh with the assumption that the application would be made by Monday 21st, so that we could avail the tax concession.

However, when I called him up after 1 week on 28th, Hirak said that as he had gone on holiday the past week, he had not submitted the documents. I immediately called up Ashutosh again, who ensured me that he himself would submit the documents without delay.

I then submitted a complaint on the ICICI website on 29.4.16 against Hirak Sinha, which was acknowledged by customer service officer Kranthi on 1st April, with a cc sent to Hirak Sinha on his e-mail ID asking for an explanation.

As there was no response thereon, I sent a level 1 complaint to ICICI on 5th April. I received a call from Mr. Krishna Govindan of ICICI bank, who was unable to trace Hirak Sinha to do a conference call. In the meanwhile, a visit to ICICI branch at Bhangagarh revealed that Hirak Sinha had been transferred to the AJC Bose road branch in Kolkata from 1st April. This information I shared with Mr. Krishna Govindan, and also gave him Hirak Sinha's mobile no.

When no further action happened, I escalated the complaint to level 2 ( complaint no. 013-353-869). I received a response from ICICI bank asking for time till April 16th.

On Saturday 16.4.16, ICICI bank has again written to me asking for time till April 22nd to respond.

Because of the callousness of Hirak Sinha, my wife and myself shall be paying Rs. 15,000 x 2 = Rs. 30,000 more tax each as we are unable to avail of the concession of investing in NPS.

More so, neither have the cheques been withdrawn from our banks, nor have we received any PRAN nos, nor has anyone updated us about the status of our NPS applications.

I would like ICICI bank to make good our loss of IT interest savings and also update us on what disciplinary action they have taken against Hirak Sinha who has caused us financial loss, not to speak of the mental tension.
