i phone nonfunctional after upgrading to 9.3.1

my I phone 5 was working perfectly until I updated it to 9.3.1 sent by apple.now thw screen feeezes intermittently.got it checked from service providers apple and the set passed all their tests.now apple customer care tells me there is a hardware problem for which I have to pay 22000and get changed since it is not in warrant period.i paid 50000.00 for this phone and within 2 yrs this happens that too after updating their software.multiple such complaints are also in the net.i feel cheated by apple....and seek for some solution.i have all compliant communications with me...
