enquiry regarding editing the place of birth.

While filling the form, I did a mistake in the field of my place of birth and related fields. And the fields are no more being edited. Can I go ahead with the same form or I need to fill in a fresh form again?
Can't I change my place of birth at the time of appointment (document verification)?
