Respected Sir/Madam
I am Mr. Arnab Gupta, son of Mr. Ramendra Chandra Gupta, aged about 32 years, residing at Flat No 171, Indraprastha Apartment, Sector 12. Pocket 3, Dwarka, New Delhi- 110075, wants to bring to your kind attention that I have been misguided and cheated by Shine.com, an online job portal which is fully owned subsidiary of the Hindustan Times Group (HT Media Ltd).
On 15/11/2016 I sent a mail to the concerned departments of Shine.com and HT Media mentioning all my concerns and claimed the refund of the amount of INR 48,762.00 (forty-eight thousand seven hundred and sixty-two) which I paid to them.
Prime concerns that I had includes:
a) The Immigration services which were forcefully sold does not even include the US & UK;
b) Linked in Profile service which was again forcefully sold with a false promise that they will ensure that higher management from the foreign companies endorses my skill;
c) Job interview coaching was the last attempt of forced selling which I declined;
d) Resume for all four countries were drafted without any discussion with me; She requested me to avoid the Draft CV uploaded in their dashboard without any discussion and assured me that a call would be arranged with the writer of the CV for discussion;
e) Missing invoices & discrepancy in the invoices for the payment that I have already made favouring Shine.
Based on several conversation & series of communication with Shine.Com, it is very much evident that Shine.com, a business unit of HT media is not at all a responsible and trustworthy service provider and they will forcefully keep my money with them. I don’t want to pursue any kind of engagement with Shine.com and want my money back.
In view of the submissions contained in the preceding paragraphs, I most respectfully pray to the Hon’ble Forum to direct the Shine.com to
a) Refund the amount of INR 48,762.00 (forty-eight thousand seven hundred and sixty-two) along with the interest at the rate of 3.10% monthly (37.2% ANNUAL) or more at the discretion of the Hon’ble forum;
b) Pay a sum of INR 25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand) towards the continues mental agony, stress and harassment.
c) Take necessary and exemplary step so that harassment of consumers can be avoided in future.
