Reliance is trying to get customers to switch from 3G to 4G without consulting them. My data card number is 9310034511. In the month of May I discovered that I was not getting any tower in the 3G dongle. I was in Kolkata at that time, travelling for work from Delhi. Reliance customer care was clueless. First they said technical error. Then they said we are upgrading to 4G and you will need to get a new sim and device. I paid the bill for May despite not getting any tower. To my utter surprise they presented me with a bill of Rs. 789 for the month of June. There could be zero usage since there was no service or tower since Reliance customer care by their own admissions said they had halted 3G services! I did not pay. In July, they sent me another bill,for Rs. 1555. I did not pay this either. It was completely fraudulent and opportunistic charging. I went to the Reliance customercare store on June 27 in Delhi. The store was so crowded that they had no time to give attention my complaint. The store manager said he would file a complaint for wrongful billing which I have no idea whether he did. Later, I kept getting calls from their customer care to pay up even after a visit to their store and after I had requested that they file a complaint for wrongful billing. I called the store manager and he claimed he had filed a complaint. The complaint number he gave was 4666578309. When I had visited the store on 27 June, they persuaded me to take a 4G sim and a wifi device free of cost. I have not used it till date and plan on returning it because they want to force me to pay the wrongful bills of June and July 2016, which I refuse to do.
Over and above, the customer care has no idea about my complaints. They call me every single day, and each time I have to give a long explanation to them. They claim that their record says I am not paying my bill due to personal reason, which means nothing at all. I have requested customer care many times to at least close the number so that no additional bills come my way. When I call customer care, they put me on hold for at least half and hour and don't do anything. When I called up the Delhi store manager, he insisted that I personally come to the store and shut the number.I am in Kolkata on work, how can I go to Delhi for such a reason. I will return only on August 10 by which point, they will give another bill for August and keep calling me incessantly. I feel utterly harassed by Reliance, I believe they are robbing their customers. I will also return those devices which they forced me to take. I demand that they withdraw their wrongful billing.
