A Cybercrime Victim : Paytm - No more a secure platform for banking transactions
"I have proofs also from cyber-cell attached in the comment section"
I am an unfortunate cyber crime victim via Paytm who has lost Rs 9985 from my account while placing an order of Rs. 1085 in Burger King dated 22.06.2016 at 11:43pm using paytm. Waiting for my order, when i made a call to Burger King, I was informed that no order has been placed with my name and they haven't received any money , although Rs 1085 has been already deducted by Paytm from my account.
I immediately logged a complain in Paytm customer care with ticket id #129751 .After i made a complain through paytm customer care, a person claiming to be a paytm customer care employee called me and asked me to share my card no. , i refused to do so,.i cut the call. After that when i logged in and to check whether there is any refund took place in my paytm wallet ,i found the amount was showing Rs1085 in my wallet but on my surprise it turned to zero after few minutes . On seeing that in front of my eyes I was shocked, i quickly logged out .I again raised request mentioning the above scenario in customer care PAYTM. I have also received message from ICICI that 1085 has been deducted from my account.
Next morning, when i checked in, i was set aback as 7-8 transactions has been done by my Paytm account out of which 3 were successful.
Transaction Id Amount
5697364614 Rs.1085
5697382124 Rs. 5000
5697384366 Rs. 3900
I didn’t made these transactions only transaction of Rs. 1085 was done through me and which was not successfully paid to Burger King as mentioned.
I didn't share any of the confidential details only my contact number
was shared that too also in the paytm customer service while raising the complaint which is not a big issue. Even everyone must have shared their
mobile number while logging complaint. I already mentioned, as soon as I
sent a mail or raised a ticket on the paytm website, i got a call from
person claiming to be Paytm customer care employee. This is a clear sign of paytm website being hacked by a third party or may be PAYTM customer care employee is also working with the fraud group leaking out the details of customer .I do have the contact numbers also of the fraud call that i received:
08860953665
07896921756
07053584081
Net amount of Rs 9985 has been looted from my account through PAYTM wallet. Paytm, on my several complaints for this serious issue, has turned a deaf ear. It has just blacklisted these numbers and asked me to be cautious in future. The safety points that they mentioned were already taken care by me still i was a victim of the cyber crime due to discrepancy in PAYTM system .It has made no attempt to find out the culprits nor paid my lost money back.
PAYTM , turning a cold shoulder to such cyber crime, has only proved that it is no more a trustworthy site.Consolidating to the above information, I am a convict of cyber crime via Paytm. Paytm, being the reputed brand name in the market of shopping, recharges, etc. is proven to be an insecure platform for doing banking transactions. There is a proven discrepancy in the solution which millions of people, trusting on Paytm, are using. Being a convict of such a crime
I might be a small pinch in the sea of customers of PAYTM brand, but I am a citizen of a democratic nation with complete right to justice.
Please share it so that people become aware of mishappenings while using Paytm in bank transactions and do not fall in trap of such cyber crime via Paytm.
