On Nov 1, 2015, at about 11.50 am my top loading Samsung washing machine that was placed in our bedroom balcony area caught fire. We first smelt some carbon emission and on checking the entire house we realized that it's coming from outside and on checking the balcony saw that the washing machine was completely on fire melting its body. Immediately we switched the mains off and then turned to douse the flames by using water. Some good neighbor’s helped with this effort and in 20 minutes the fire was brought under control with water. Then the security guards carried the washing machine to the ground floor to keep it in the open and away as it was still smelling foul. The main plug is not damaged and there was no fire at the switchboard end. The machine plug point is still in working condition. I spoke at your customer care cell at 12.23 pm and requested them to register my complaint and its shocking that they asked me to pay Rs. 350 for the visit in spite of narrating my horror with the situation. I requested an email id where I could register my complaint and send images of the machine but that was turned down stating that the head office will get in touch with me and I could ask them than for the email id. I received my complaint number which is 4203841354 and PA number being 8420350870.
The Samsung mechanic Pradeep visited the premise at 1:20 pm the same day and took pictures of the machine, post which I received a call from Jasminder from Samsung customer care cell at 1:41 pm asking me to narrate the incident and assuring me of the best possible solution and informing me that they would send a senior staff to again do recce of the place and machine.
Due to the faulty machine I suffered a tangible loss was a full-size jute carpet kept near the washing machine costing 11000, a plastic bucket costing Rs 300 that melted and the clothes in the washing cycle that smell of carbon and are damaged. The clothes were children’s uniforms that cost Rs. 3000 and other clothes that are priced at 6000 jointly. Also, the loss of the washing machine itself, whereby with the winter setting in, having a washing machine is of prime importance. The non-tangible loss being unimaginable destruction to life and property of my family and the society members at large.
Thereafter until today, you have taken not steps in replacement of the faulty machine nor had paid any compensation to me despite several reminders.
