Idea Cellular Company (now Vi Limited) has collected revenue in crores of rupees from the innocent customers and cheated them in the name of conduction of a contest namely "JEETO BEJHIJHAK/JEETO BUMPER BONANZA 2018" through VAS at shortcode 12175 by sending multiple SMSs as a promotional activity. A minimum of Rs.100 recharge was a mandatory condition for participating in the contest conducted during 5 June 2018-15 Aug 2018. Hence, they collected crores of rupees for the event. But doesn't show any interest in distributing the prizes ever.

I have registered two Online Grievances No. DOTEL/E/2020/15948 dated 5.6.2020 and DOTEL/E/2020/18745 dated 23.6.2020 in addition to the email correspondences had during June 2020 and Jan-March 2019 alongwith T&C of the contest conducted by Idea Cellular Ltd. Whenever I asked them to disclose the winners list of the contest, they repeatedly responded that:

"we are unable to provide the winner list details of any promotional contest as the provision for the same is not available with us. Further, if you are a winner you will get a communication from our concern team."


Then I approached to the Chairman and Secretary, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India several times through my mails dated 6th July 2020, 10th Aug. 2020, 24th Aug. 2020, 4th Sep. 2020,16th Sep. 2020, 3rd Oct 2020 and 24th Oct 2020, 31st Oct 2020, 27th Nov. 2020 and 3rd Dec. 2020. But no any outcome of my efforts come out. They still stuck up with the same statement that,

"we are unable to provide the winner list details of any promotional contest as the provision for the same is not available with us. Further, if you are a winner you will get a communication from our concern team."

The company who is organized contest is continuously denied to declare the results and for providing list of winners which reflects its intention that they have not serious in declaring the results and distribution of the prizes hence consider the deficiency of the consumer services attracted imposition of penalty of a huge amount.

I was participated from Mumbai Circle from my Idea numbers 7039861857, 8419965327, 8108047016 & 8692930089 (last two now disconnected) and based on my performance I was hopeful to get the Bumper prize of Car.
