Fraudulently excess amount recovered

On 23rd January 2017 we bought two gold items from Vashi in Navi Mumbai showroom of M/s Kalyan Jewellers. I really feel cheated by the Company the way we were treated there. My wife selected two items, Mr. Hakim Beg the employee who was attending to us checked the weight given on the tags and showed the price of the items separately on a calculator.
We asked him to give us a bill to pay the amount. We were informed that bill would be issued only after the gross amount was paid. Thereafter my wife paid Rs. 117,000.00 by her credit card. To my surprise we were given a Bill No. VASGKB003172 dated 23.01.2017 for Rs.114,200.00. Upon our query why there was a difference in the amount paid and the bill amount, we were informed that Rs.2000.00 were charged towards membership fees and Rs.788.00 were towards insurance premium. No reason was given for the balance amount Rs.12.00.
We objected for charging an excess amount of Rs.2800.00 (Rs.2000.00-Membership fees + Rs.788.00-Insurance Charges + Rs.12.00-purpose not explained to us) and asked the staff to refund the excess amount. Thereafter the entire team was against us and informed that nothing can be done. Once the amount has been paid no refund is permitted as per Company’s Policy.
To me it is a case of cheating. Without our consent how the Company can bill us for membership fees. Similarly why should we pay Insurance Premium if we do not require an Insurance. Moreover when the amount was being paid by Credit Card what was the need of charging excess Rs.12.00. Why exact amount was not charged?
The Company has unethical practice for increasing the membership base. It can also be due to some incentive paid to employees for mobilizing more membership and as well as commission on Insurance Business.
If the Company cares for their customers, I hope they will investigate / see my remarks on the office copy of the bill and will refund me the entire excess amount charged fraudulently.
By writing this message I appeal to all the customers of M/s Kalyan Jewellers to insist for the bill first and only upon satisfaction, pay the amount. There should be a transparent approach and we should not allow the Company or its employees to take us for a ride.
