Food & Drugs Administration of Maharashtra state took action against Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai.

For Misleading of citizens by using " Maida" ( White Flour- is bleached by potassium Bromate, caused Cancer ) instead of "Wheat Flour" as exhibited on biscuit wrappers

The Food and Drug Administration has recently taken strong action against Parle Company's Thane biscuits producer for cheating citizens by using " Maida" ( White Flour) rather than " Wheat Flour" as exhibited above on biscuit wrappers. According to the complaint lodged by Vishnu Karnataki, America.

Parle company's producers manufacturer's new fresh biscuits by adding recycled ingredients such as over baked, broken and rejected biscuits. Vishnu Karnataki, who was living in the Cupertino city of the United States, had complained about the sale of these biscuits in the International market. Accordingly, the Mumbai Division officials of the Food and Drug Administration visited the company in Vile Parle. Parle company's biscuits are not produced in Mumbai but in Thane and other parts of the state. The Thane department has taken the following action, informed by Joint Commissioner, Shri Shailesh Adhav of Food and Drug Administration.

Parle company's biscuits are produced in the company of Bunty Food Private Limited, Ambarnath in Thane. Parle said that the use of Wheat Flour in the biscuit making material as a main ingredient. But FDA team found that they were using - " Maida" ( White Flour) while visiting the producer of Thane. The FIR was lodged by the Food and Drugs Administration, Thane, Joint Commissioner of Police, Thane, for filing false information on the fabric and filing a complaint against the company in the Magistrate's court. Singerwad said.

The case was heard in the Lokayukta court on June 4, 2018. The Thane Department has asked the Indian Food Safety and Standards Authority to cancel the license of the company found guilty of the Mumbai office. The Mumbai office has given an inspection of the report and the order to file the report was given during the hearing.
