Not refunding Refundable Deposit 5000 RS.

This is regarding PG Degree Admission for which Jadavpur University asked – a refundable 5000Rs deposit with the application in a condition; if a student gets selected the amount would be adjusted with their course fees but if the student not selected by the university, then the university will refund the deposited 5K money to the student within one month time.

I applied in the month of January 2021 by paying 5k as per their rules. However, unfortunately, I was not selected as per university notice on Jan-10th, since then I am waiting for getting the refund of my deposit – 5000RS. First JU asked us to send emails for this refund then they again requested us to fill a form online and finally, now I can see on the JU website – a one-line general message without any details.



I’ve also visited your university office many times – but didn't get any answer regarding this refund process, most of the officials are working from home what I came to know from security guards.



I feel JU should be more responsible, to give at least a detailed notice saying how and when to get the refund. This irresponsible attitude towards our refund from the last four month is not expected from a renowned university like JU.


Last couple of months I have been harrased because of their fraudulent activity.

I will be happy if anyone can suggest how to get back this money from JU in detail.
