I bought a Dell laptop worth 86000/- last year on 12th August which was my birthday from Reliance Digital Shimoga. The very next day after buying I noticed the damaged key on the keypad and loosely fit trackpad and contacted the company for a replacement as it was not accidental damage or damage caused by wear and tear as it was a brand new product. The company never agreed for a replacement of the entire unit but instead offered me for replacement of the faulty parts. My question to them was I didn't pay 86000/- for a damaged piece of junk from my hard-earned money and clearly, their products don't undergo proper quality checks before reaching out to dealerships. They bluntly kept denying for a replacement and later I agreed for the replacement of the faulty part on my laptop. The technician who they had sent, damaged the laptop by making few dents and the company had sent the mismatched colour keypad and this doesn't end here. Soon after the repair the entire hard disk memory just vanished completely which contained my new projects drawings and documents. This is the service they provide in the name of premium support. I lost my clients as I missed the deadline and couldn't retrieve my lost data which caused me financial loss. Upon this when I again approached the company by making a video of the damages done post-repair and sent them. They were again denying for a full unit replacement. Plus the technician who came to repair had forged my signature post repair which is fraud. The company was just trying too hard to profit from a product which was unfit to be sold. Upon 100's of calls, emails and arguments they finally agreed for a replacement which took more time than they had promised though I had clearly mentioned that I depend on a laptop completely for my work. The duration of 3 months, until I got my replacement, was the worst thing. It gave me immense agonising stress plus it incurred me financial loss as the faulty product made me lose my client.
From the above-mentioned incident, I demand a monetary compensation of Rs 400000/- as damages on my profession, forging my signature by the company personnel and agonising mental stress which harmed my health.
