I had booked a consignment at DTDC Lake gardens Kolkata to be sent to my daughter Dr. Mahatabb Nundy at Christian Medical College Bagayam campus,Vellore.As she was attending classes she was not available at the hostel address.DTDC Vellore has made 2 calls to her within a span of 2 minutes and returned the parcel. Had they tried to contact her once again in the evening after 5 or had they even tried to contact me this would not have happened. The very purpose of taking the senders cell no. is defeated if the parcel is returned without getting in touch with the sender.
Today i get a call from the Kolkata centre asking me to collect the paecel. I am a resident of New Town which is far away from Lake Gardens. I happened to be in that locality for medical reasons hence i booked the parcel from there.My request is to either resend the parcel or deliver it at my residence, which the company has refused to do.
