Fake Recruitment Company

I was lured by an individual claiming to be from a company called HDFC. A person named Abhishek contacted me, introducing himself as an HR representative from HDFC, and inquired about the type of job I was seeking. I mentioned that I was interested in finance and consulting roles. Abhishek then informed me that there were vacant positions in account and finance at HDFC.

Through a WhatsApp message, he provided me with the details of an off-campus drive scheduled for the next day. The address he mentioned was F Block office no. 205, 2nd floor, near Lenskart Showroom, close to exit Nirman Vihar metro gate no. 2 (in the vicinity of Lenskart showroom and Lotus Tower).

His exact text message read as follows:
"Your interview has been scheduled for tomorrow.
Age limit: 18 to 30.
Profile: Account and finance.
Address: F Block office no. 205, 2nd floor, near Lenskart Showroom, exit Nirman Vihar metro gate no. 2.
Timing: 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
Reference: Abhishek.
Required documents:
1) Aadhaar card photocopy.
2) Resume copy.
3) Two passport-size photos.
4) Last qualification documents.
Best of luck for the interview."

Upon arriving at the designated location, everything seemed suspicious and disorganized. The setting lacked professionalism, and we were instructed not to interact with one another. There were around 10 people present, each pitching themselves for a different role and company.

During the phone call, I was informed that there would be two rounds of interviews, and the results, along with an offer letter, would be provided on the spot. However, they did not provide any job description other than mentioning it was for the "Accounts & Finance" profile.

After enduring a five-minute interview where they asked questions about my family background, I was informed that I qualified for the second round, which would take place over the phone, with a third round scheduled at the company's office. Due to my suspicions, I inquired about the exact nature and name of the company. Abhishek, the HR representative, stated that they were "Bharat Skill Training and Management Services," claiming to be a government authority (which I verified through Google). He explained that they were involved in employee placement services, similar to a staffing company.

Curious, I approached another individual who had come for the interview. They revealed that they were there for a server IT-related job and were asked to pay INR 2500 for some documentation. They wisely warned me, saying, "This is a complete scam; don't give them any money. They are fraudsters."

Perhaps due to the knowledge that my father is a journalist at a newspaper, they refrained from pressuring me for any monetary transactions.
