I had bought Mi protect from authorised Mi service center for my Mi3. Mi protect has tie up with OneAssist. so, all the process will be done by OneAssist.
My Mi3 got liquid damage accidently. I declared for claim of my phone on 16th of july or 17th of july and asked for the courtesy handset or say service handset which would be provided by them as per their terms. The next day I got the form and have submitted all the documents and then they arranged the pickup for damaged handset. Pick up boy came after exact 7 days after my claiming. Too late. I asked him how much time it would take for repairing and claiming. he told me generally it takes 20 days and asked about how would I get service handset and he told it should be get delivered in 2-3 days And after 2 days i called to service centre (which usually takes 5-6 minutes of waiting and their executives take 2-3 minutes of hold for gathering my information) and asked about my status of courtesy handset. And they said there is no request made by my side for courtesy handset, I was disappointed and after that I though it’s okay and asked them to raise request for the same and he said it would be delivered in 7 working days. And after 7 days, I again called to them to know status about it and came to know that my request has been closed because I wasn’t able to reach while they contacted me. So, I told him that he can contact me again if I wasn’t available instead of closing my request and I didn’t get any missed call from them nor any missed call alert through SMS (which I generally get) in my phone. And I have nothing to do in that case except ask for raising the request again. And I did that. And again same process and 7 days I called them to know status about my damaged handset and they said it is under estimation of cost for repairing and this was the same when I called before the 7 days and I was like what the hell it is! Come it doesn’t take more than 14 days only for estimation and then asked about courtesy handset and came to know that again I wasn’t able to reach and they closed my request this time I told executive to transfer my call to senior manager and she said she is diverting the call to him and I was on hold for more than 10 minutes and there wasn’t any manager. So I disconnected the phone and this time it took 32 minutes in whole call. Next day I again called and asked the same for contacting for manager and after 20 minutes of call, manager was on the line. And told the whole problem and said It is not possible that every time I wasn’t able to reach (because I have also provided them secondary phone number which generally uses my mom) and I was amazed by his answer. Sir, chances are low but you wasn’t available and I said it’s okay that I wasn’t available but at least I should have got any notification for missed call. And I felt by his replies that I am not going to get any solution and told them okay and asked for raising request again and he told there might be delay in that because of public holidays (i.e. 14,15th august) and I said if their executive is having problem in delivering courtesy handset, it would okay for me to go to their place for collecting and he said he can’t give any details (address, contact no.) of centre in my city for security reasons. I wasn’t happy with his reply. And I forgot to mention that during these calls once I come to know that I have to pay 5% of my repairing cost but there is clearly mentioning of cashless repair on the card which they provide after purchasing Mi Protect and nor I was aware by sales executive of it. I checked reviews of One Assist and there is 100s of negative reviews and some are saying they haven’t got phone after 3 months. And I am afraid of losing my mi3. And third time the same issue happened that my courtesy handset request is being closed for same reason .even after 35 days having a talk with sr.manager he assured me to contact in 1 hour and he didn't called me in 24 hours. And after 35 days my devices is still under estimation of repairing cost.
So, this is my bad experience with Mi protect and One Assist. After almost a month I don’t have any courtesy handset in my hand and also I don’t know the exact condition of my phone.
