Gym management behaviour, i am finding it more like an harassment to get my own money

Hello everyone,
I am looking for your sincere opinions about the situation i am facing dealing with a well known gym in south delhi.
I have taken 6 months membership in elemention gym,adhchini this august paying 18k, unfortunately i had to shift from delhi to agra due to sudden demise of my beloved younger brother as I have to be with my old parents and we all are dealing with the biggest shock of our lives.
I informed the gym management and requested them to please refund my money, i received an answer from them that they can offer just one option which is to get them a member first and accommodate my paid amount with that member, so basically they want me to leave my old parents who are in tremendous shock and go to delhi and search for a member for their gym to get my refund.
I want to have genuine opinion from every human about this inhuman behaviour of the gym mangement and what shall be the best solution, as i am finding it more like an harassment to get my own money which was given in advance trusting them and i am sure many of you must have done the same.
