My son, Ashu Bajaj had purchased a HP Laptop for me from Croma Store at Logix Mall,Noida on 1st June,2019. On 24th June, middle half portion of the screen suddenly went blank ( image enclosed ). I immediately tried to contact HP customer care on the 2 Nos. mentioned on the sticker of the laptop, but both the nos.were wrong. Then I called Croma Customer Care and was advised to visit the store. I visited the store on 25th June and their customer care guys told me that it is a problem of display and lodged a complaint with HP on some other phone no.available with them and gave me the Case No.5033251226 and advised to contact HP Customer Care, if my complaint is not attended within 48 hours.

After vigorous follow up with them, the HP technician, Mr.Naveen, visited my place yesterday on 29th June and after inspecting the laptop, declared it as a case of screen breakage.

I showed him this image of laptop at the time of contacting Croma customer care on 25th June and he told me that the fault as per image was not that of screen breakage,it was a display problem and was covered under warranty, but now, it is a case of screen breakage not covered under warranty.

On 30th June, I again visited Croma store and met Mr. Kundan, who called Mr.Anoop, who had inspected the laptop on 25th June. Mr. Anoop confirmed that on 25th June, the fault was exactly as per this image. But at the same time, they expressed their inability to do anything in this regard. It clearly indicates that something has happened at Croma store, while inspecting the laptop or the Croma people already knew about the defect of the laptop from before, and for which, now Croma prefers to adopt a standby attitude.

Can Croma explain how a case of display problem became a case of screen breakage? And above all, how can Croma wash their hands off by putting the ball into HP court, inspite of the full knowledge of display problem reported and inspected in the first place.
I had purchased laptop to use it and not to break the screen. I have not been able to use my laptop for almost a week and now feel like being cheated by Croma. I want to claim full repairing charges Rs.10,061/- as well as Rs.30,000/- spent on purchasing a laptop, which proved to be defective to enable me to purchase another good laptop. The cost of mental agony should also be recovered from Croma.
