I had subscribed to the bigbasket for the first time on 25 November 2017 trying to see how it is diffeent and useful compared to my local vendors. I downloaded the app and reading the instructions very carefully started filling up the details. Then came the page for making payments I had the choice of getting a 5% discount BSAVE5N; 20% discount upto Rs 200 for VISA DC/CC, ICICI DC/CC, HDFC cards for first timers; Rs 150 on making payment thru PayTm subject to a upper ceiling etc. Nowhere in the mobile page or the newspaper adv. was it mentioned that only one of the bsave 5% or PayTm/DC/CC cards would be available. Between the Paytm and the DC/CC cards it was obvious that the payment mode has to be one so only one benefit can be chosen thru the choice of mode of payment, but BSAVE 5% was clearly not a mode of payment , it was shown as a clear saving.

I placed my order with both BSAVE5N and the DC card option only the BSAVE5N was provided to me .

During the confirmation call of the orders placed at 9:50 am I told Ms Lata that it was a no-brainer for me to choose a 20% discount over 5% discount had this been mentioned anywhere or pointed out during the payment that only one could be chosen for the first timers. Therefore I requested for a resolution. In the mean time since I had made payment thru my VISA DC Rs 1586 had already been deducted from my bank as soon as I made the payment.

Ms Brinda from BigBasket called me up at around 11:55 and explained that as a goodwill measure she will allow me to cancel the orders placed and in a days time i will get the money back. She was neither willing to extend the first timer advantage of 20% for the next purchase, nor able to explain why the matter was left unclear deliberately in the mobile page(s). I promptly got the message that my order has been cancelled.

Till date , 28 November 2017 I have neither got the money in the BB wallet or back to my bank so that i could have got other things from the bigbasket.

The wallet image of today is shown below.

It clearly appears that BigBasket in not interested in having clients of ordinary stature. This seems to be highly unprofessional and unethical to not give proper notice of the promotional schemes and withholding monies.

I would like you to return my Rs 1586/- with interest of 12% or put the money back in the BB wallet and provide me all the promotional schemes available on 25th November along with Rs 200/- cash voucher which could be applicable with any scheme for BB purchases.

I am highly disappointed with the otherwise famously advertised product BB.
