Brightness is constant in my laptop not decresing and increasing

I have a laptop of HCL model no. L1114, serial no. of L111413060010713, operation system is windows 8.1. In this laptop the brightness is constant the switchs are showing that the brightness increase and decrease but the brightness is constant. I talked with the HCL costumer executive but the call was disconnected and not replied back.
