black screen with movable mouse pointer and no safe mode

I booted my laptop (lenovo z585),first it was showing lenovo logo and loading sign for a long time. I hit the power switch and started the computer again this time it was showing 'preparing automatic repair' after this screen the screen went black with a movable mouse pointer.I tried hitting f8 but I couldn't load it in safe mode.I want to know if my hard drive and my files are safe.please help!!!
