Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to inform you that I was admitted at Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital, Bariatu Road, Ranchi- 834009 from 27th October 2017 to 5th November 2017 with a complaint of pain in stomach. I was taken inside the operation theater where I saw a team of doctors for surgery. Whereas outside of operation theater my spouse was praying for successful operation and at the same time she was asked to pay Rs. 3500/- (Rupees three thousand five hundred only) for Anesthetists and Rs. 13000/- (Rupees thirteen thousand only) for the surgeon apart from the doctor under whom I was in the supervision. Interesting is that they forced to pay the amount in "CASH" and they denied to give the money receipt. The hospital management was approached to give the money receipt as I have to submit for mediclaim but the Hospital management didn't provided. I visited hospital many times and met with all concerned officials at every level to get the required document but it was not solved. Again I went to meet with the Manager and send me to meet with the Incharge where I was waited for more than 4 hours in between they asked to meet with the doctor, Dr. Manoj Jaiswal as I was under his supervision. He misbehaved with me even knowing that I am a patient went through a gall bladder surgery. Forced me to go out from his compartment saying he will never give the receipt and challenged my mediclaim by saying it's fake.
The question is the doctor is Indian citizen and he is liable to pay the applicable service taxes. We prefer to go for cashless but they forced to pay in "CASH" which shows how malpractices is prevalent in this Hospital. Instead promoting CASHLESS the doctor and the Hospital Management is promoting and forcing patients to pay in CASH which supports malpractices in Hospital.
As I have already submitted the original documents which I have received from the Hospital, the following queries has raised by the Mediclaim agency:
1. Original pre-printed numbered money receipt of Anesthetists charge for Rs. 3500/- along with name and registration number of Anesthetists.
2. You have submitted an intimation letter where no receiving stamp or signature is present. Hence we require reason for non-submission of claim initimation within 72 hours of date of hospitalization, OR forward us the copy of the intimation letter if already submitted by you to the Insurance Company
3. Histopathology / Biopsy report
4. A copy of the Registration Certificate of the hospital
I would like to mention that I am only earning member in the family and its getting difficult for me to pay my children school tuition and bus fee as well. In my surgery I have already spent more than Rs. 70,000/- (Rupees seventy thousand). I am facing a big challenge of money crisis as I am working in a private sector and facing humiliation from the hospital by their behaviour and their word that "you go and complain where ever you like, nobody can do anything to me"". They are never bothered about the system and laws.
This is my pray to register my problem and get it solved accordingly.
