Deposit Refusal by the company

This is regarding refund of my deposit with Hathway Broadband, account number being 1172080764. I was told by the salesman of Hathway at the time of taking the connection that the deposit will be refunded in 8-10 days after my surrender. I’ve taken the broadband connection from Hathway at Chennai on 30th March 2019 and surrendered the connection on 27th March 2021. The billing team is now not willing to refund the deposit; they say it is refundable only if I take their services for more than 3 years. This was contrary to what was mentioned by the salesman. I’ve the recording of the salesman.I’ve written emails to the billing team questioning this, however they are not willing to refund the deposit of Rs.400.
I’ve taken broadband connections multiple times and multiple places and surrendered. Nowhere did I see such a practice of collecting the deposit from the customers and having such condition to refund the deposit only if I take their services for more than 3 years. I seek your support in the refund of my deposit Rs.400. I would also seek charges for all the trouble they have been causing. I would urge you to take steps to stop this practice by Hathway broadband of collecting the deposits for any connections being issued by the company.
