Problem with brand new Lenovo G50-30

Intermittent Vertical lines coming on screen . When I take it to a Lenovo authorised showroom they say need to keep the computer for a day. I say check the hardware connections now and rest later, they say no we have to run software diagnostics ??? where is the will of the customer?

I also need an outer full body for my older G450 model. Can I get one and at what cost?
