battery not charging, taking too much time, hours and days

I bought my Google Nexus 5 from Amazon three months back.
It was initially working properly and the battery was getting charged in good time.
For the last few days, the battery does not get charged at all or gets charged at a very very slow rate, say 10 hours or more or even one day.
This is a surprising and shocking new development.
Has something gone wrong with the new phone?
Can you suggest some solution and do I have to bring it for getting the servicing done.
Since the phone is just around 3 or 4 months old, the warranty should be valid and the servicing should be free.
