unable to use sd card/external memory card

Sir,I have Samsung galaxy tab 3 sm-t211, I would like to know how can I use external memory card to save downloaded files, because it automatically saved in device memory and prevent smooth functioning of system due to lack memory capacity in internal memory. Thanks for your suggestions.
