Tablet yoga 8 not getting ON & no indication of battery charging

I got lenovo yoga 8 tablet just four days back through Amazon delivered to me in perfect condition. It was delivered to my colleague in Delhi from where it was sent to me. Till today noon it was working perfectly till 1215 hrs.
When I wanted to start it again at 1300 hrs it did not get ON. I connected charger but no indication of it getting charged was being shown. I am frustrated as to what could be wrong with it. Now I have observed there is some click sound coming like 'tick', every few minutes but the Tab is not getting ON. Pls advise urgently.
